GentleSort Privacy Policy
Privacy is part of the product architecture: photo processing happens on your device, without a cloud photo copy.
Last updated: August 28, 20261. Scope
This policy applies to the GentleSort iOS app (also known as 轻流相册 in Simplified Chinese), its official website, and directly related support services provided by 厦门深二科技有限公司 (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. How the app handles photos
After you grant permission, GentleSort uses Apple’s Photos APIs to access the photos you authorize, along with creation dates, dimensions, and on-device identifiers. This is used to prepare a review round, display previews, and estimate storage that may be cleared.
This processing happens on your device. The current version does not upload photos, thumbnails, on-device photo identifiers, or review decisions to our servers, and it does not create a cloud photo copy.
3. Photos permission
GentleSort requests read and write Photos access so it can show authorized photos and ask iOS to delete selected items after you confirm. You may grant full or limited access, change the selected photos, or revoke access in Settings at any time.
If access is denied or revoked, features that require your real photo library will not work. Other photo apps and the contents of your library are not affected.
4. Deletion
Choosing “Let Go” does not immediately delete a photo. It adds the item to the current round’s review list. Deletion occurs only after you review the list, confirm inside GentleSort, and confirm the iOS system prompt. Recovery and retention in Recently Deleted are managed by Apple’s Photos app.
5. Data we do not collect
- No account or sign-in is required in the current version.
- We do not collect your name, phone number, government ID, contacts, or photo library contents.
- We do not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell, rent, or provide your photos or review decisions to third parties.
- The current version does not provide cloud backup, social publishing, online payments, or subscriptions.
6. On-device state
The app may temporarily store interface or Shortcuts handoff state needed to complete the current flow. This state does not contain photo copies, is not used for advertising profiles, and is not sent to us.
7. Children
GentleSort is not designed to collect personal information and does not target children with advertising. A parent or guardian may contact us through the support page if they believe a child has encountered a privacy issue.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version adds networking, cloud storage, accounts, or another feature that changes how personal information is handled, we will update this policy before enabling that feature and request any consent required by applicable rules.
